Taking the human race forward – Avatar

Just watched Avatar, Cameron’s latest. The movie is breathtaking, and simply blows your mind. I’d rate it 5/5.

Avatar is a milestone in the history of Cinema, and James Cameron reminds us that we should settle for nothing less than the best. It’s people like him that push the human race forward, by taking on tasks that seem otherwise impossible.

This movie will be the benchmark by which all movies from now on will be judged. I will be writing a full length review after I watch the IMAX version soon. Can’t wait to experience the magic again.

UPDATE: I watched the IMAX version, but could not get myself to write a review. The movie was magnanimous, and well beyond my capability to express in words.

Movie Review – District 9

Original. Awesome. Wow!

Damn excited about James Cameron’s Avatar

Avatar is slated for a worldwide release on Dec18, 2009. Eagerly waiting.

Quote “AVATAR, which opens in Imax and theaters everywhere December 18, 2009, takes us to a spectacular new world beyond our imagination, where a reluctant hero embarks on a journey of redemption, discovery and unexpected love — as he leads a heroic battle to save a civilization in this epic action adventure fantasy. Conceived 14 years ago and over four years in the making, AVATAR breaks new ground in delivering a fully immersive, emotional story and reinvents the moviegoing experience.”

Movie Review – Magadheera

I just watched Magadheera, a telugu movie directed by Rajamouli.

Rajamouli is one of those directors that I very much admire. He’s got very good story telling skills, and is brilliant when it comes to screenplay. All six of his earlier movies were blockbusters.

Magadheera is his seventh movie. The movie was very good, but the flashback episode in the second half of the movie is even more terrific. The movie is a benchmark for the Telugu film Industry with never before seen visuals and technical brilliance.

In a recent interview, Ram Gopal Varma, one of the most prolific directors in the history of Indian Cinema says: I was blown away with the production values of the film. These were never been attempted before in the history of Indian cinema, and I could even say it is going to take a long time before any other Indian movie even comes close.

A must watch!
